Refund & Cancellation Policy

Custom services and consulting

Software development, product engineering, and consulting are custom professional services. Time and work allocated to your engagement (discovery, design, development, and delivery) reflect real effort, so fees for work already performed are generally non-refundable once the engagement has started.

Project cancellation

If you cancel before work begins, we refund any prepaid fees minus non-recoverable costs and payment-processor charges. If you cancel mid-engagement, you are billed for work completed and commitments made up to the cancellation date, and any unused prepaid balance beyond that is refunded.

Subscriptions and retainers

Ongoing retainers and subscriptions renew each billing cycle. To stop the next cycle, give at least 14 calendar days written notice before the renewal date. We do not pro-rate or refund partial cycles once a cycle has started, unless required by law.

Digital products and licences

For digital products or licences (for example paid Byteforge tools), refund eligibility is stated at the point of purchase. Where a product is provided free of charge, no refund applies. Statutory withdrawal or consumer rights are honoured where they apply.

How to request a refund

Email contact@byteforge.software with your engagement or order reference and the reason for the request. We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 10 business days and to process approved refunds to the original payment method within 30 calendar days.

Disputes and chargebacks

Please contact us before opening a payment dispute or chargeback. Most issues are resolved faster directly. Where a signed agreement includes a dispute-resolution process, that process applies.
