Who we are (data controller)

Contact and newsletter data

When you submit the contact form, our website server sends your email address, project brief, language and optional topic to Resend for email delivery to Byteforge. Cloudflare Turnstile verifies the submission to help prevent abuse. The handwritten preview stays in your browser while you type. We do not send the brief or your email address to analytics.

Legal bases

Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: your consent (analytics cookies and newsletter); our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping the site secure; and steps taken at your request before entering a contract. You can withdraw consent at any time.

What we collect

We load Google Analytics 4 only after you accept analytics. We measure page views, accepted contact submissions, booking and contact clicks, email-link clicks, service-to-case navigation, and language changes. We use known page paths, language codes, contact-topic labels, and fixed interaction destinations. External referrals use only the referring site origin. Valid public campaign labels help us identify traffic sources. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled.

What we do not send to analytics

We do not send email addresses, names, message text, form values, verification tokens, mailto contents, URL query strings, or fragments to Google Analytics. We accept only bounded public campaign labels from standard UTM parameters. Campaign labels must never contain personal data. Contact submissions use our website server and email provider.

Cookies and storage

Your Accept or Reject choice is stored in localStorage on this device. The Google tag loads only after acceptance, so it sends no analytics requests before your choice or after a rejected choice on a new page. If browser storage is blocked, analytics stays off.

Change your preference

Use Cookie preferences in the footer to accept or reject analytics again. Rejecting after you previously accepted stops tracking immediately in this page and other open pages. Your draft stays in place.

Service providers

We share limited data only with providers that help us run the site and respond to you, for example analytics (Google Analytics), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), hosting, and email delivery. Providers act under agreements that restrict use of the data to our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the provider's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, for example enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and reasonable follow-up, and newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics configuration.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to, correction, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. If you are in California, you may request disclosure or deletion and opt out of any sale of personal information; we do not sell it. To exercise a right, email contact@byteforge.software. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site and our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
